I'm Back...

I have been a little MIA lately. I honestly thought with the kids out of school, I would have so much free time, little did I know, it would be the complete opposite. I finally sat down to finish a few projects for Sweet 'N' Sassy and delivered them this morning. I am trying to use more of my vintage stash because it is over flowing, and I just like vintage materials, it is my way of recycling.

I have been pondering the idea of turning a onesie into a dress. I looked and looked at ideas, and finally gave up, looked at my materials and started with my own concept. I knew what I wanted it turn out like, I just didn't know where to begin. Here's what I came up with.

I think it is very sweet looking, I really wish Nellie could fit into it, she was a very sweet baby. Jaime was right, we need a little baby model, if she would only have one;)
Since Nellie is too big for this one, we made one in her size.

It is not a dress, more of a tunic. It also makes a great bathing suit cover up. I have this great Miami Vice looking material that I plan on converting into beach cover ups soon, well as soon as I can get around to it anyway.

  1. Robin - these are adorable! Mom and I did a version of this off of Tea Rose Home where we made it more of a babydoll style shirt instead of a tunic like Nellies - but this is really cute! I will have to try this next!

  2. Thanks ladies!
Jess- I saw something similar at Target awhile back that was short and meant to be worn with leggings. Theirs had tulle under it too to make it really full. It was so cute. I have to get better working with tulle before I attempt it under the next one.
And once you try it, send it our way so you can show it off;)
